Hometown: Wakefield, United Kingdom.
How long have you been in circus or fitness: I was competing in Sports Acrobatics for 9 years representing Great Britain in many World and European Championships. Naturally, after my competition days were over I found myself moving onto working in shows such as Pirates Adventure (Mallorca) and The House Of Dancing Water (Macau). Now I’m currently working on Crystal by Cirque du Soleil.
Favorite athlete or artist (your idol): I’d have to say my favorite athlete would be Conor McGregor. I really like his mentality towards training and competition. I take inspiration from him and his behavior and often encourage myself to implement such things into my own life.
How important is circus or fitness to you and how has it impacted your life: Circus and fitness are a huge part of my life, especially being on an arena tour with Cirque du Soleil. Moving city weekly means you don’t get much time to settle, so I find myself on a strict regime of working out daily and performing 8 shows a week. Although this sounds intense I wouldn’t have it any other way, if it wasn’t for circus I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to visit places and meet the people I have. It’s a perfect profession bringing joy to people and staying in good shape at the same time.
What is the best compliment you got in your life: “When you came on the stage I just found that I couldn’t stop watching you, even when the focus wasn’t supposed to be on you.”
